Nakeesha Lyn entered our lives in December 2000 and was taken from us December 2002. While she was in our lives only a short time, she has a tremendous impact on our family. January 2002, we lost our oldest Sib, Natasha, she was 16 1/2 years old to the day, she had a full and happy life. We knew she was getting older and our middle 'Sib' would need a new playmate. Nakeesha was born to a mommy that had been taken into rescue due to abuse and negligent. At first, Nakeesha was afraid of my husband, because of her mother's tendencies toward men, but he won over the little girls heart. She loved to pick on our middle 'Sib', Nikita and eat corn on the cob. She was a true momma's baby and I loved every minute of it. Her and Nikita were so close, like mother and daughter. In early December 2002, we found a lump on Nakeesha's back and within three weeks time, it had grown and medicine was not helping, she lost all function of her hind quarters. Nakeesha is buried by her and Nikita's Summer Condo, and extra dog house we have in the back of our yard. I miss this girl so much! We had to adopt another Siberian in January. Nikita was having a real difficult time getting over the loss of Nakeesha. Our newest addition is Nakayla, she was found at a campground in January 2003 and was on her last day at the shelter when Claudia (Nakeesha foster mommy) called and told us about her.
